Got my insurance renewal from Lancasters this morning £340.....HOW MUCH..... A 70% increase that's how much.

Same vehicle, same drivers, same circumstances, nothing's changed since last year. Can't see Lancasters getting my business this year.

Aye caramba, I'm sure if you rang them they'd soon drop it, or pm the Flux guy on here for a quote

A new tax or something to that effect came in which directly affected the insurance companies so a price hike is due. That said ring them n ask.

Mine went up with them also, now insured with Admiral on a classic insurance and agreed value for theft etc.

I've long been under the impression that motor insurance companies follow the same rules as the banks, a classic example of 'rip-off Britain'
Shop around & if you better the quote go back to your own insurer & give them the chance to equal it, or in my case just take up the lower quote.
The original company will make up for losing your business simply by ripping off other naïve customer.
It definitely pays to be a confirmed cynic in this world & as a pensioner I've had years of practice :mad:

No, it's just down to the insurer trying it on as usual. Just had my renewal - up 30%, so I will be getting on the net and finding something cheaper, then go back and see if they will reduce to a sensible amount.

Yes, my insurers keep trying to put mine up. I'm not having any accidents or getting speeding tickets so it should be coming down. Getting quotes off comparison sites and then phoning them to see if they can come down a bit is well worthwhile. You can end up with a hundred or two off, just for a 20 minute phone call. That's a better rate of pay than you can earn doing anything else, unless you're a premier division footballer.

So, I finally got round to sorting my insurance this afternoon. Goodbye Lancasters and hello Adrian Flux, fully comp' with an agreed valuation £145, I thank you.....

Similar result here. RIAS wanted a 30% increase on last year, have now moved to SAGA, with a 10% decrease on what I paid last year. Probably have to move again next year.

Now to do my wife's car....
