Hi, can anyone recommend an insurer that isn't bothered by a 2wd Freelander mod i.e the propshaft has been removed? On the comparison sites I've tried it makes quite a difference, any help would be appreciated
Nodge it all depends where you live also. I live in Manchester surrounding postcode that kick you in the nuts. When I was with Swinton Ins I got hammered with Mods on a Landrover 110 v8 3.5 1988. Even with a mod or not Postal codes count. I search around and Adrian Flux gave a much better offer. Now I accept my fault and stupidity when I bought my Freelander being 2wd but still postal code can still harm regardless in major cities. When I got a quote for a 2WD freelander, I was quoted an extra £250 for the privilege of not having 4WD. It's generally cheaper to replace the VCU and keep 4WD rather than pay the extra premium for a less capable vehicle.
