hi everyone from 16 i have had my own 300tdi 90 as a project until i could afford to run it, at the min i have a 1.6 Peugeot 207 as my first car with 1 years no claims and a policy ending soon and wanted to as if anyone on here knows the best company to go with so im not stuck in a pug for another year lol, and also is a td5 90 hardtop much more to insure compared to a 300tdi 90 hardtop? thanks

You'd be better off going onto Parkers or similar and looking at the insurance groups of the various Defender models.

Other large factors influencing your premum will be your occupation, your post code and how many miles your doing per year.

Have you got any NCB?

Im only 23 and have had a range of cars from a Passat CC to a Type R to a 645ci with a 4.4l Engine. I have never paid any more than £800 for a years insurance.

Now with 6 years NCB I pay 350 for the 300tdi. With modifications declared and my NCB protected.

Try the search function! I answered pretty much the same question yesterday!

In terms of company, use a comparison website. Then go to the top 3 companies direct for, often cheaper quotes.

welcome to the asylum

try adrian flux or A plan

as there a specialist company for landys

hope u get on ok, feel really sorry for young drivers and how they are slaughtered for land rover cover

Yeah i think something has t be done by either the government or something to help reduce the price of insurance for younger drivers its not just landrover cover thats the problem its any car!

my son who is 26 still gets crucified , alas had to get a black box fitted in order to get his premiums down, he has got a 1 litre car and think that costs him £1,200 per year

tried to get him on my discovery 3 ins, cheapest quote was over 3k

outrageous and they really need to help younger drivers,

yeah my first quote for the current car wasn't bad it was £1200 for 1 year on a 1.6 HDI 207 with no black box so got off lightly on the first car!

that is good, all about post codes as well , son lives in london , so expect a high premium

for a young driver starting off at work that's still a serious amount of cash , seems the government are clamping down on false whiplash claims and so many bogus drivers out there trying to cash on on someone else's misery

yeah im from a fairly rural area in Lincolnshire so the premiums here arent that bad for first time drivers due to the lack of anything to actually run into here :D think what also made it cheaper was that im not currently in full time employment as im at college so dont use the car to commute anywhere that often

Feel free to give us a try if you like :)

If you drop me a PM with your details, I'll give you a call to arrange a quote.

All the best

Jordan
