At 17 i found NFU was best, do pass plus mine dropped £800 after !
Now im with bell who gave me a really chep quote for an unknown reason. But i was advised not to have it on a parents policy because ins companys are clocking on to this and wont pay out
Try putting a parent on the policy it might still drop if your the main driver but with someone "responsible" on it too. but bear in mind it still is not going to be cheap.
best of luck.

Dont know about LRs but Adrian Flux are the best with classics, ect im 25 now and have used them for years, had a 68beetle modded for offroad ( baja) with a cage, harness and bucket seats, less than £550 at 22 with no NCB, Only problem is that in general you cant get NCBs on specialist insurance premiums :(

As for the bit about no insuring off road and greenlaning, your right about offroad if its a pay and play site or similar, but greenlanes as in ones set out by councils ect they have no choice as they are a legal right of way for a motor vehicle and if you want you can take you 1.1 festa down them :D:D,

exactly what i thought. hence why i only have normal insurance (and it was cheaper!) i was reading the small print the otherday do find out about windscreen cover, and found that they state that they wont insure me in offroad competitions, pay and play days, track days and the nurburgring.. haha dosent say anything about green lanes!

im definitely going top RING footman james tho! i like the sound of that premium!

I'm 18 with a fender. Got m insurance down to £900 With aviva. Try putting your parents on the insurance. It took nearly a grand off it... I was quite lucky to get that tbh. I was quoted £3800 for a £200 fiesta :p

thats true my mums been on every policy of mine including a 300hp impreza

so if you accidentally hit a rambler or a horse bolts into your LR are you going to drag their carcuss to the side of the road too

tbh you deserve it if you hit a rambler there well easy spotted,
:D:D
you are right though you couldnt always get away with it but most incidents will be your own fault and easily lied about

not having a dig just trying to add a bit of sense, loads of accidents dont just involve one motor.

If you collided with another vehicle while off roading or laning they wouldnt lie about where they were and would just make your insurance void.

Lanes is roads......

I hate insurance, it has turned into a legal scam! They will find their way out no matter what. I probably have a slightly different type of grease in my uj's which they would class as a mod that I havnt told them about....

tis true until you find a lot of insurers offer green lane cover now, and some that wont cover them at all :(

Is this a legal scam, otherwise whats stopping them saying your not insured on A roads or Motorways?? A green lane is a public road like the M6 or A12

I know it's been said but Adrian flux is your best bet buddy! Don't use the online thing though that just comes back with stupid numbers for fun, phone them. I had a disco td5 at 18 and was paying 1200, I've told a few mates about them and they've all saved, my mate is the same age and has a 2.8 pajero and he got his for a grand with AF compared to 2500 with normal insurers off comparison sites. Plus its proper 4x4 insurance so you get the greenlaning and stuff included! HTH
