Hi. I have a 1994/95 2.5 turbo diesel range rover. At the moment it has original single exhaust on it and the rear section is knackered. I want to replace it with twin exhaust. How much work would it involve?? Has anyone done it? Any links/ info please!
I know I would have to install a few extra exhaust brackets but that’s should be easy. I have been told that might be a problem with centre section ... how can I overcome that?

just buy the complete twin exhaust system and fit that.
 
got twin exhausts on my 2.5dse, had to replace centre box on mine and pretty sure its same box single and twin, just tail pipes are different.

yep i agree,changed the centre one on my twin system as well,looked the same for both single and twin systems.
 
i have a 94my/95 registered 2.5 dt, and replaced the centre and rear exhausts this week for the mot test. My local motorparts supplier had real difficulty getting a system for my rangie. This model went from 09/94-11/95, then they changed the layout of the exhaust system, even Charles Hurst, the main range rover dealer in N. ireland didnt have the exhaust parts.

If there is a twin kit for this model, i am sure it would be aftermarket. If you can get one, let me know how you get on.
 
When my twin back boxes on my DSE rusted i replaced them with a couple of boy racer back boxes from Halfords for half the price of DSE one, i would have thought fitting twin pipes wold be straight foward

Thanks. The center box you got Was it for 96-02 p38 model? And wat reg and model is your range? Mine is 94/95 dse. Cheers

If you look at the pics in RAVE the twin tailpipes are achieved by adding a T-piece after the centre box instead of bend to one side, therefore converting to twins should only involve replacing from there backwards, and adding the necessary brackets, although just taking a peek at the back of my single pipe DT the tow eye could be in the way? but it was a move I was considering too, along with switching to a bigger bore stainless system.
 
Hi All

The biggest issue you may well face is that on single exit systems the brake pipes are routed differently to those on twin exit exhaust systems.

I changed my single exit system for a sports quad exit and had to rework brake pipes to make things fit as well as get the stock exhaust system tweaked.

You will need to check clearance over the back axle between brake pipes and exhaust, especially when the car is lowered.

I agree with andy. I fitted the double s stainless quad exit pipes to my 4.6 hse 1996 . The brake pipes are routed along the top of the rear axle on this year. later brake pipes are routed along both sides of the car and a flexi pipe to the calipers. this is a problem if you use access mode on the suspension as the pipes will get crushed by the ns exhaust pipe.
