Does anyone know the correct connectors to buy for the Inspection Lamp Socket. In addition to running a light would it be ok for general use like a cigerette lighter power source. Mobile phone etc.

Thanks in advance Tony

Yea its ok to use them, i use them for mobile phone and sat nav, when i go off roading for the weekend, i plug the fridge in them for the drive up, i think you can get them from Blanchard's and Land Rover Orphanage still im willing to bet you can get the plugs from Maplin too, and you can still get the army lights that have the plug on them for a few ££ you can always cut the end off them and use it

for a ciggy socket i connected onto the wires for the inspection socket and ran it to the centre dash panel , great for the satnav

see my pic on my oil pressure thread a few days ago

Its the red & black sockets on the dash to the left of the steering wheel.

Thanks for the replies guys will check out Maplins.

I asked the same question on a different forum.
You should be able to find suitable plugs, I think I remember
using similar ones a school!!!
I was warned though that these sockets are not fused.
I ran a fused circuit directly off the battery to the cigar lighter
for my gps / phone / ipod charger.
I am thinking of fusing these sockets and running a boom box off it.
