Looking at replacing my tyres on my 110. I currently have 750-16 Insa Turbo Sahara tyres, but I'm looking at fitting Insa Turbo Risko MT.

Other than the 5hite name, does anyone have any experience of these tyres? How would they compare with the Insa Turbo Sahara tyres?

They are a BFG MT KM2 clone/copy. Should be better on road than older patterns and still capable off road. Although the Sahara is better on and off road than it really has any right to be.

Can't see it in a 7.50 though:

Thanks, I think that 750's are being phased out, I will be swapping onto 235-85-16 when I change, just need all four to wear out at the same time.
The Sahara's seem to be on back order with most of the cheaper suppliers at the moment, which is why I was considering alternatives.
I think I will stick with Sahara's, but I have also been tempted by Maxxis Bighorns.

What do you use the vehicle for?

The aggressive remould mud terrains are ideal for off road competitions or pay & play sites. And in years past they used to represent good value for money, generally being quite a bit cheaper.

These days things have changed. For competition or pay & play they still make sense, as generally the remoulds can be had in more aggressive tread patterns with deeper lugs.

But for more general use a proper new tyre is likely to serve you better. Remoulds are generally more prone to either cracking or going hard.

We have had loads of remoulds over the years. Nearly all have been great. In fact I have at least 4 and half full sets for different terrain etc. But I'm running some General Grabbers for non competition use and Maxxis AT's on the the other vehicles.

A quick look suggest an Insa Turbo Sahara in 7.50 x 16 is £141 each!!!!!! o_O

Which is a lot for a remould IMO.

Sadly not much choice in 7.50. These should be good:

But more money.

You can also get the BFG KM3 in a 7.50, but they are comically priced.

235's there is more choice and prices look a bit better. I see the Risko is a bit cheaper, but still seems a lot for a remould.

Any of these would likely be nicer tyres to roll around on and still be very capable off road. However, if you do RTV trials or similar I would look at a remould still.

I've recently switched to the falken m/t and can confirm its brilliant.

Astoundingly quiet on the road for such deep and fairly aggressive tread thanks to some brilliant jap technology, and brilliant off road, especially so on filthy, muddy tracks with a stone base. I've towed a couple of all terrain equipped work trucks (d-max's) out of waterlogged and muddy fields, and one was hitched to a chipper. I'm sure I paid around the £140 so very happy! I wouldn't spend that kind of dosh on a remould, I had no idea the prices had risen so much for them, same with everything I guess!

I had a set of Insa Turbo Risko MT on my Disco 1. I found they were quite grippy on road in the wet and very good off. I paid about £85 each about four years ago.
