I'm just about to buy a new tube. I run 235/85 16s and the tubes are around £20, but the 7.50 - 8 x 16 tubes are around £10. Are these really the same tubes or am I missing something here (and not just £10!). What size tubes are others running?
thanks
Thanks, If I read that right it looks like it would fit. I see it says 225 / 75 but perhaps that just means I need an 8-9x16. I'll do another search, cheers.
These are handy, most of the tubes are TR13 but the Series wheel hole is 5/8 which is TR15. These allow the slim valve in the larger hole: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151672154910
Only realisied they existed when I found 2 of my wheels had them fitted.
Ditch the tube a go tubeless.
I did it years ago on std rims...no drama tyre has never come of...so much better and far less chance of getting punchers.
You need to buy 4 or 5 larger van type tubeless valves to fit in the rims...save a lot of weight as well.
Pay no attention to thos who say oh but std rims are not designed for tubles.
Prob 20 years since I converted.
I now have 7-750 16 and 238/85 16 tubes, both new so in the interests of science I will try to see what the differnces are. One weighs about half as much as the other which is slightly worrying.
