I think my TD4 may have an inline fuel filter (2003 model), can't see it where my haynes manual says it should be. Anybody know where the little fricker' hides on the freelander.

Mine is a 2002 model and the inline fuel filter lives in the RH rear wheel arch. It proved a bit of a bitch to fine and chancing it the first time was "interesting".
Have fun!
Chris.

Just noticed the spelling mistakes in the last post, it should read "bitch to find and changing it" I blame the whisky!!!!!

yes fuel filter under o/s/r wheel arch was design change during 2002 model year,
and yes they are a right bastard to get out of the plastic sleeve , hammer and punch are the tools required lol

Its in front of the wheel arch cover. Accessible from underneath. Get down in front of the rear wheel (drivers side) and you will see a black plastic cowling with a drain plug in it. (no need to drain). It is held in place by two self tapping bolts - remove the one nearer the back of the car first. Have fun!!!

Finally got around to changing the filter today....What a TW@T!!!:(
Thanks for all the help guys...

looks like I'm going to do it all over again, just gone and bought another on an 06 plate. Spose it's the same engine, so should be able to do it, unless somebody knows differently!
Let me know what you think
Mark
