Hi,

This is my first DIY job so please bear with me!

I've removed the inlet manifold and ordered the relevant new seals but do I need to also use some sealant when putting it all abck together?

Sorry if this is a complete newbie question!

On the valley gasket just smear some gasket sealant around the water ways

Thanks. I've always wanted to do a bit "under the bonnet" and after replacing the air springs I'm now replacing the glow plugs - so finally get my chance!

Note to anyone who has problems starting the P38 2.5 diesels:-

Mine has gradually been getting harder and harder to start. This is apparently a major sign of glow plug failure.

While taking the inlet manifold off I also noticed that the leak-off (I think they're alled that) pipes which are the rubber pipes going from one injector to another have perished so badly that they are just spraying diesel everywhere. Bought a single piece of piping from Halfords for around £4.50 and cut to right sizes (using the old pipes as guides).

Once I got the exitsing glow plugs off I tested them by using my battery charger and only two out of the six were working (they'll get very hot within a second or two).

Just one more thing - I want to give a bug shout out to range rover parts. I have ordered all my Land Rover parts and bits and bobs from them and each time they're less than half price of the major companies out there. I bought a set of six glow plugs (original parts) for only £20 delivered within a couple of days!

Hopefully, these glow plugs will fix this problem - I'll be back in a couple of days to let you know how I got on.
