Hi

2005 Freelander TD4 Auto

I've removed the injector that was causing me grief, cleaned the port, fitted another, and put it all back - same with the one next to it. (land rover diagnosed problems with #4, figured I'd clean em all while I was at it).

However, when I got to 1&2 they were a little tight. used an injector pull kit to get the tops off and used a slide hammer to pop them out, no problem - cleaned up, the same thing.

My issue is now when I go to replace the tops, on one a large part of the barrel is loose and on the other part of the barrel is loose. In both injectors it's the largest part with the rubber seal which twists around and moves very slightly up and down. The other injector also have the metal circle above just below the fuel in assembly very loose as well. I only noticed when I was cleaning the outsides and it twisted under pressure.

I definitely only undid the tops when they were seated so I could remove them - not sure what this is but it's driving me nuts. My mechanic friend said they are fine and I've loosed threads, and injectors have one that goes right and one that goes left, but I can't seem to re-tighten this.

Any pointers helpful as I have no car right this second! It will be 30 minutes tops to be running again once I fix these :)

Thanks

Chris
