Ok I am looking for some best guesses or good advice. I still have what can best be described as a shimmy when accelerating also I seem to think that the engine note is not as smooth as it could be.

I think I have an injector down other mates have suggested it is a driveshaft. I cannot feel any significant play in shafts.

All other stuff has been done - pierburg msg and synergy 2, EGR bypass, Crank case breather BMW one.

I may get injectors reconditioned - anyone gone any recommendations. I saw a company on Lindhurst that will recon your own for £65 each

hi going by my experience i would say be very careful where you source your recon injectors or who recon you excisting ones.my td4 was in a independent landrover garage and i supplied him with recon injectors from euro car parts and went through 2 x full sets and none was up to standard.ended up getting recon injectors from bosch.mechanic told me not alot of people who recon injectors have the expensive equipment thats needed to test them fully.i learnt the hard way.

Today I got a feeling it could be a hydraulic valve lifter because I can hear a tap in tune with the shimmy!

I put some stuff on the oil and it seemed to improve mmmmm could be my imagination - going to run it for the week and see.

This is such a bizarre vehicle - I now think the engine is running very nicely - it's pulling well and revs to the redline cleanly but still has a slight shimmy do I am now hedging bets on a drive shaft!

Shimmy still there BUT improved since oil treatment and Millers. Also had full clutch and flywheel job done which has helped - I think disturbing the driveshafts has had a positive effect and the other things I did removed minor glitches which added to the effect.

Now I am so convinced it is an inner cv there is one on order and will change it when I can.
