Hi, has any one else had a problem with TD4 fuel injectors blowing out of the head, i have had two injectors do this now one eight weeks ago & another this week, both have sheared the two clamp blots off & broken the clamps, This has happened on two different cylinders,
Has any one had this happen or have any ideas why this would happen.
Regards Matt.

"strange" is bloody injector s blowing out the Head !

I am looking for some help not introducing my self

Here's some help! I've come across it several times on Mercs! Every time it was down to poor fitting of the injectors! Threads not cleaned, bolts not torqued correctly, stretch bolts not replaced! I'm not a landy tech, but same systems! So I'd guess its been fixed by a muppet at some point:D

Mine never blew out, but eventually would have - some nobber had been in about there before and stripped the threads where the injector studs screw into the head - they were loosening and letting pressure past one of the injector. I had to strip it all down and helicoil the head to take the studs. Been fine ever since.

those studs that go into the head are expensive about £26 i recall each so if someone has had trouble they have taken a short cut

What a F***ing waste of time this fourm is most of the reply's are abuse not any help at all, but thanks to the guys who bothered to reply with helpful suggest.

You brought it upon yourself sir.

All they wanted was a quick post saying a few things about yourself and your car. Not a real hard thing to do is it?

After that everyone seems very willing to help.

I'm still a noob, but I've had some real help from this site. It's just the local protocol.

If you wind you extended neck back in, settle down and go with the flow you'll get all the help you need, but if you continue dummy spitting you will get :flame2: big time, tis up to you now. :D:D

Did you get my PM? If you think this forum is a waste of time then you are dead wrong. Yes there's a lot of banter, yes there is **** taking, yes we can't see each other faces and sometimes things get miscontrued, but you simply will not find people who know this much about Land Rover anywhere else in the world.

Newbies get the full force of the **** taking, not because we take the mick more but because you have to get used to it. Everyone does it to everyone, and it's part of this community.

You are a Freelander owner, as am I, which means you will get even more **** taken out of you than anyone else. But if you went to Billing or Convoy for Heroes, the person who called you gay and told you to burn it would still buy you a beer with a big grin on their face.

So just go with it, and in time you will say "thank god I didn't sulk." I promise.

Yep this happened on my td4 , one injector rose out of the head by about 10mm, clamp bolts had snapped and the clamp was in half, can't say what caused it though don't know if the clamp snapped first and put pressure on the bolts or what but i replaced all the bolts while i was at it as they came in a set about 30 quid if i remember right, hope this helps .

There is a lot of this 'introduce yourself first' posts on here, before anyone will help, yet when you do if you mention you have a Freelander you get one post or abuse so whats the point? I frequent a lot of car forums and this one is by far the worst for this. Just my 2p.
