Hi All,
Another new member here.
I've got a 1987 90 CSW with the venerable 'td' engine @ 144,000 miles. I'd appreciate some advice on this;
When starting either from cold or if it has been run and turned off for an hour or so I get a regular puff of white smoke from the exhaust - coming from probably just one of the 4 cylinders - along with a little knock from the engine at the same time. If I leave it idling it will puff away for ages - longest I've left it so far is about 20 minutes.
However, once I've driven it for a short distance there is no smoke at all at idle. From reading this forum and others I think this could mean one of the injectors is knackered??
If so, is it worthwhile replacing all 4 in one go?
Cheers in advance.
Steve
