Just a quick question would a faulty injector or two throw up eml ?

My freelander 1td4 hasn't been use since March so decided to go for a run today problem was smoking (light blue/white) on acceleration for about 1.5 miles

Stopped at morrisons for supplies

Started the car again and it was fine I'm just wondering if it was a injector fault would the eml not come on to show their is a fault

The basic EDC in these vehicles isn't smart enough to know there's an injector fault, only very modern diesel engines or petrol can do that. If an injector is sticking, the EDC wouldn't know it.

After reading a few threads on here i am wondering if my problem could be a dodgy heater plug it just seems a lot of people on here seem to have problems removing the plugs and maybe the problem could already be a snapped one so I will have to inspect further and buy some supplies of plus gas

I doubt glow plugs would have anything to do with it as it's been so mild lately. To help with removal of the glow plugs, spray with penetrating fluid for a couple of days then get the eng. upto temperature.

How do I get car upto temp if I have to strip so much off it to get to the glow plugs , surely it would be cold again by the time it would take to get to them

I know what you mean. As long as you're familiar with what has to come off (have a practice if not) get all the necessary tools laid out & ready then work as quick as possible trying not to burn yourself in the process! All the best.
