Has anyone an opinion or experience on purge cleaning injectors have a MOLLY PURGE kit that was in new 3 door complete with in line filter and pipes,

Have been told to look on utube but just wondered if anybody here had done a TD4 using this method.

Personally I replaced my injectors with genuine LR reconditioned ones. Heard too many horror stories, including my vehicle that have had their injectors 'cleaned'.

The injectors on my vehicle were removed and 'cleaned' before I bought it at 113,000 miles. By 120,000 miles 2 of them needed replacing.

I'm not going down the cleaning route.

This purge cleaning of injectors there not removed. Had a look on utube not convinced its any better than sticking it in tank

There are some good videos on youtube showing how to clean injectors, by making a little cable rig that connects the injector to a 12 v battery and a switch to turn the injector on and off in short bursts to flush carb/throttle cleaner through the injector with a plastic syringe, you can also test the injector resitance with a ohm meter to see if it matches stated specs for the injector.

I've used the wynns injector cleaner straight into the tank and i'm sure it's made a difference as before i added it i was going to take the injectors out and clean them but after the injector cleaner the engine seems to be running smoother so didn't feel the need to remove and clean them for now.

A few tankfuls of Diesel Rhino works wonders and does loads more than just clean the fuel system, not just the injectors. Deals with diesel bug, improves fuel economy as well.
