The disco 200 engine i recently fitted to my series 2 has now developed a diesel leak.
The leak is not large but theres always tell tale staining on the chassis and engine mount.
At the back of the boost capsule there is a small rubber nipple/breather rubber jobby, this is where its leaking from.
I have removed the top of the boost capsule, marked and removed the diaphragm and the concentric shaft i also noticed this had been tweaked for max fuel which would explain the speed and the smoke screen!, but in the bottom of the hole where the little rod runs up the shaft it has diesel fuel in there.
i have had a few of these out and never seen any diesel in one before.
Ideas?
I have an idea that someone has been playing and damaged something.

Now rigged it up for a high tech test, rubber glove over the nipple and see how much comes out after run to work.

did you get any joy with the fuel leak? i allready took my diapram out for a look and spotted the odd shaped shaft!!! how do you put that back in the right place??

If you look down the hole you will see a pin that runs up and down the shaft the pin comes from the timing case side of the pump ie it faces backwards on the vehicle, this pin runs up and down the taper of the shaft, look at the taper and you will see the wear mark that the pin has made, simply align the wear mark with the pin, sometimes you cant see the pin as its hiding in its hole, if you have more than one wear mark on the of shaft the pump has been played with, just use the wear mark with the biggest er wear mark!
I suspect the diesel is coming up through the small shaft pin seal and then out the breather hole.
I ran it with the glove and the amount of diesel was tiny, so rigged up a bottle and ran it again for a week or so, again the amount was tiny, so i drilled a small hole in the chassis top rail and ran the pipe into this.
So i never fixed it!

How about now, has the leak gotten worse over time?
My 200tdi has recently developed a similar leak and I would rather not have any leaks; especially a fuel leak for that matter, no matter how small it may seem now...
