if that is ex mod though which the plate you have put up in post 3 suggests it is you can't necessarily go off the registration, that may just be the year it was demobbed.
for example my s1 was built in 1955 for the mod and left service in 1963 and was given a civvy street registration for '63

you might find someone on one of the military vehicle forums that can tell you when it was made from its military reg "41 BP 97"

That second one's gotta be a series 2, cos it has a curved side, so 1958-61 or series 2a so 1961-71 i think
