Hi guys!

I have a rather urgent problem, and am hoping one of you guys will have experienced this before...

I drive a 1997 V8 disco, and connected up a trailer this morning. The trailer lights didn't all work, but I figured it was a broken bulb or something like that. Re-started disco 10 minutes after checking lights and after I drove off, I realised that my indicator lights weren't working anymore when indicating (Neither are the trailer's lights) Even the normal "relay-click" sound is missing, just dead. They do all work when I put on the Hazards-lights. Took the trailer off, checked all the fuses, restarted but still no joy. Anyone any ideas?

Yours confusingly!

Hi, Fuse 1 (15 Amp) is for the Indicators and Fuse 4 (30 Amp) is for the hazards. ItÂ’s got to have blown fuse 1.
Fuse 1 is the top one on the left hand vertical row of fuses, they are numbered going down the column
Check if you have voltage to fuse 1
Let me know how you get on

Then check the trailer wiring, sounds like you connected a fault to the car by plugging in the trailer!

i bet its the plug on the trailer wiring i had this with my trailer not so long back ended up putting a junction box on and renewing the trailer light wires been ok since

The plug and trailing cable would be the most likely to be damaged, but depending on the trailers use and storage - it could be anywhere!

Thank you very very much for your help! I am sorry I hadn't thanked you earlier, but as I was away from my PC...

Can't believe I missed that fuse!

My brakelight switch also blew... meaning that my brakelights still worked, but that the ABS brakes didn't...

Thanks again!

Anthonio
