Hey up folks.

Getting my old girl back from the restorers mid-week and wanting to take her in to have a few niggles looked at. (There's a shimmy / judder from the nearside front wheel at around 70 and the serpentine belt driving the ac needs replacing.)

I'm no good with a spanner so I'm in need of a good garage that knows what they're doing with a full fat l322 2003 4.4.

I'm also wanting to get the box oil and filter done and probably the front and rear diffs as she's got 100k on her.

Any suggestions please?

If you can travel through the pipe south to Charlton, then I recommend LRR London Range Rover, Penhall Road Charlton SE7. Ask for Phil or John.

wow glad to see they are still alive and well. i got a couple of bits from them for the first RR i had in 96

good bunch back then !

Thanks very much for that. Just been on the website and given them a ring.

I spoke with Phil and he was very grateful of your recommendations. I explained my non mechanical skills and what she needs etc. and I had asked for a 'c' service plus transmission oil and filter but he's kindly suggested that I take a 'b' service (which includes all the oils etc.) plus the transmission bit and then he'll report back if she needs any more than that.

I always feel better when a workman suggests trying the cheaper option rather than just going for the most expensive. :)

The only 'problem' is they're that good they're fully booked for around two weeks which is great news for me as it means they're that good they're busy!! :) So the old girl is booked in on the 2nd June. More will be revealed. :)

Phil and John are very honest. When I had my P38 they said the same, have the B service and they will report back. They are great guys. They are extremely busy and booking in times are usually 2 weeks in advance. I used them all the time when I was in London absolutely great independent garage.

Very happy with the garage, reasonable cost and every car in there was a land rover so they've got plenty of experience. It was a recommendation from this site that sent me to them.

They did what I had asked them to do and gave me a list of recommended bits (various ball joint / anti-roll links / tyre wear) which is what I suspected. I'm getting the tyres done next week and then the suspension pieces from them the week after. They quoted a very good price I think for this work.

Thanks very much everyone. I really don't have a clue what I'm doing and I've got zero patience when using my hands so it's easier for me to do some overtime and pay someone else to fix her as she'd be in flames by the time I'd spent 15 minutes on her! :)

Are they a range rover specialist or do all land rover models? I used fortune 4x4 and my old man uses Ongar bridge but always good to have another option.

Every vehicle there was a Land Rover of some description. From Defenders, Discoveries, Sports and Range Rovers. I was genuinely impressed with their knowledge and work.

My old girl's going back in on Wednesday to have some suspension bushes / anti roll bar bits and bobs sorted that they reported on the service.
