There's no pump in the tank of the L series as far as I'm aware. I could be wrong though.

maybe I am to Nodge but I do not know the series diesel, but I was presuming it was same as early freelander td4.

The "lift pump" on the L Series is a hand operated bulb by the jack under the bonnet - that primes the system and the main HP pump does everything after that.

I've taken out what is supposed to be a pump but doesn't look like a pump ,its just the float and pipes for fuel in and out .

I read the first reply guys ,then started work on it and explained its not a pump aimed at teddywood .That should answer your replies guys .

Question. When is a fuel pump not a fuel pump? Answer. When it's a fuel pickup and gauge sender unit. :D:D
