Look around on eBay, Rockford fosgate punch p3 subs are pretty cheap and sound amazing, but yea proper wiring is the key to good sound, I've seen cooker mains cable as power cable :/ when looking for an amp ignore the max power and look for good rms power and it's pretty hard to go wrong

I got a Sony x Amp somewhere mono in my shed with cables if you want some thing cheap I don't use it anymore sorry for the spam

that set up will sound pretty poor to be honest what you want is something like VIBE BLACKAIR VENTED V10 ACTIVE ENCLOSURE 1300 WATT CBR FREE WIRING KIT | eBay this will give you a decent sound its got a good power handling and its by vibe so is good stuff this is what i would recomend for your cable and down rate the fuse to 60 amp as the thicker the power cable the better Halfords | Vibe Slick 4 Gauge Amplifier Wiring Kit hope this helps along a little bit

I have a slim sub in my defender between the two front seats, behind the cubby, attatched to the centre bulkhead. Its got a built in amp (1000W I believe) and is not bad at all (dont judge me I aint a chav :D just like a bit of bass in me rock and such). I too have 2 Coaxial speakers in the front which are alpines.

look in discovery section. someone has done a nice install in their disco using the rear jimmy seats as sub enclosures

yeah that vibe looks good, only problem is that im looking for something compact as not to loose space in the back of the defender, but want it powerful, however i get a feeling its gonna be an either or
