Having reread the testing procedure, in the document linked to my last post, for a car of your type and year, there is no specification for a cat.TD5 2003, was fitted with one
What part is it found!!! 261 pagesHaving reread the testing procedure, in the document linked to my last post, for a car of your type and year, there is no specification for a cat.
So if your car can pass the test with work other than changing the cat then he has no right to fail it.
Still, best of luck.
Not that I need to worry about it myself as I have a 10p!!Having reread the testing procedure, in the document linked to my last post, for a car of your type and year, there is no specification for a cat.

Taking ages, not started welding yet!!!!
But then it is getting difficult for stuff.
I am not good at welding, also anything hard work forget it. Still on crutches as well from leg injury.
My prefered places either don't weld, or just gone.
Tried another local specialist, went quiet on me.
Tried the final one, no response.
Anyway
Not many garages doing this sort of work.
If they do difficult to get in contact.
Or they are too busy.
Or cannot do in time.
Biggest mistake was asking for MOT as my usual tester would not be going so thorough, I think on Monday I will let them into a secret, my dad before retirement was an MOT tester.
So looked at a temp car, nothing under £1.5k locally.
The days of a few hundred quid banger are long gone.
If we want to go anywhere this weekend it will be a case of taxi.
Not at all happy but rock and hard place.sorry to hear that mate , speedy recovery
hope the disco is soon sorted out and indeed the day of cheap motors these days have gone , well ones that are road worthy , lol
Roolz like only. Daughter has long Covid. Now officially handicapped and retired on ill health grounds PIP etc.Work colleagues have been warned, next time i will beat the covid spreader to death.
All i had was rough breathing, then ok except no energy, felt like anemia, then worse.
So far no energy at all, only short term burst. Vertigo, still being investigated for left side weakness.
Best of luckNow back with MOT, welding done, new Cat, bird poo, and SVS error.
Will ignore SVS error until weekend when I will check the connectors to earth and car loom.
Suspect messed up earth wire.
Best of luck
One of the two wires was damaged, will remove and refit earth and the other I will strip out and resolder the joint to rule that out.
