Turns but won't start. Weak spark and little petrol. All fuses are good. There seems to be no spider unit in the dash. Not sure where the immobilizer unit is located. The only thing I could find is the receiver unit (green box) which is good as I plugged it into my friends Disco and it worked. Is this spider unit and immobilizer unit different from the receiver box and do these need to be sync'd together? Does every Disco have a spider unit, immobilizer unit and a receiver box? If so where might they be located? Any other ideas??

You will find the spider unit behind the heater control unit and the radio ,to get at it you will have to remove both.Spider unit is a small black box its outputs cut off the fuel and starter motor. You my find dry joints on the circuit board.
Check the threads relating to this there are good links showing you how to repair this unit and also how to bypass it.
Have had the problem with my 96 Disco.
Hope this helps.

1) Where else would the spider unit be located if it is not under the radio behind the heater controls?
2) Are the spider unit and the immobilizer unit the same thing?
