Long time no post.

Defender 90 CSW 300tdi.
Factory fitted alarm and immobiliser.
A while ago I fitted the spyder bypass wiring, then (when the aux batteries for the alarm system finally gave up (2am) I disconnected the klaxon thing).
Subsequently I have still needed the fob to be on the keyring to start it due to the coil in the steering column.
While I was away recently, I leant the 90 to a friend who must have tried to set the alarm by pushing fob buttons.
Couple of times since it has taken a while to recognise the fob. This morning it's given up completely and won't start. no solenoid actuator power and I assume no fuel solenoid power (bypassed this ages ago with a new supply). Also a flashing engine management light. Running a wire to the solenoid from the battery gets it going with ignition on. Before I wire in a 'Start' button, does anyone have any suggestions?

changed battery old one was showing 3 volts. still not having it.
Hmmm, I think they can lose synchronicity somehow when the battery goes low. I've had this happen to me when I've changed the battery, but I can't remember what I did to get it working again. I'll have a think! Do you have both fobs?

Yea it has to do with putting the code (don't have it but can get it from LR dealers) in using the ignition key and the door I think. Don't have both fobs. It's working fine ATM just flashing engine warning light and steady red light on dash.

I think I've used my second fob before and then the other one has worked. I've also done the ignition key and door technique to get the code sorted. I've got the instructions in my handbook, but I suspect neither of those things are any use to you :(

Hey it's an old piece of Landrover electronics. If it's broke it's broke. I have a work around so I will look into a new fob. Thanks for the help though.

I re-synced mine by pressing lock/unlock button on my new fob until the hazards flashed and the red dash telltale was rapid flashing. Stuck the key in the ignition, fired up and all was well…..

Might be the solution to your ills, maybe not - but just a thought….
