hi lads, hope someone can help,can you take the immobiliser out of the car ,alarm keeps triggering and locking the car down ,leaving me unable to start the f,,,.ihave already had it on a computer 3 times at 80 quid a pop with the same problem thats why i want immobiliser out of it .can it be done cheers pat
 
it can be disabled but you will need it on the computer to do it and i think only rovacom can do it, pm irishrover he knows all about this stuff!

Firstly I am making the assumption that we are talking about a P38 RR 94 - 2002, if not ignore the rest of my email.

I would suggest that you need to find the cause of the problem rather than switch the immobilizer off. The actual immobilizer is part of the BECM and linked into the engine ECU. it can't be removed as such. I believe there are options to switch it off from Rovacom, but what would your insurance company say if the car was stolen?

Find the problem, I would suggest.

I am assuming your £80 a shot is main stealer? Who then didn't tell you what faults they found, if any?

Whereabouts are you, we have the diagnostics to have a look if you are local to Bedfordshire, Irishrover if you are in Ireland, and others spread around the country.

i would firstly suggest taking the front door lock machanism to bits, have a fiddle with it, clean the electrical connections and see if it happens still. it may just be a faulty lock.
 
gav i cant get the car to start .needs to go onto computer ffing pain in the arse ,i just put in new clutch which was a nightmare lying on my back now this .pat
 
i mean to stop it happening again, its worth a try and you can do both front locks in a couple of hours, i can do em in 15-30 mins each, even if it dont work at least you have ruled it out!
 
hi j .no my car is diesel but the battery drained once and triggered alarm then immobilised its self.i have seen a faultmate on ebay would that let me reprogramme the immobiliser because the person who reset it last time it was a lot of work getting him to do it with all the hassle getting the car to him i was wondering if the faultmate was a better solution then i could sort it my self cheers pat
 
Disconnect the RF receiver aerial from the remote locking that can cause battry drain if it is being affected by an outside source. it worked for me
 
pat i agree with billy as for falut mate it depends witch one it is. but you can get a box to re sync it cost £130, mine would not do yours as mine is for petrol thats why i asked. go to black box solitions and have a look. best of luck mate j
 
Hi gents,

Had exacly the same thing on my p38 2.5 Dse.

Firstly it is a fault in door lock mechanism, telling the Becm the door has been opened - even if you leave it unlocked it will turn on the interior lights flatten the Batt and screw up the imobiliser code.
Take the lock completely to bits - clean everything up - lubricate it lightly with vaselene - and refit - job done.

As for recoding go toTaw park 4x4 in barnstaple (also on ebay) and buy the syncmate box £119.99 - it works a treat, I keep one in the glove box all the time

yes works a treat i have lent mine out to guys that are stuck just takes 2 mins to do the job if you need any help just ask.. and i agree with above i think you also have poss problem with lock also could be problem with rf box easy fixes

No it dont - it takes 20 minutes.....

10 minutes to figure out it needs to have the ignition on, another 5 minutes to realise yu missed the led - and 2 minutes to redo it and check its all ok :D.
