How come you mention my name when your talking sheep sh*gging? It was an unsubstantiated rumour.:p:p The facts that I had been wearing wellies and had scratches down the front of my legs are just coincidence.;) I'm surprised you know what a sheep looks like you cheeky Manc bugger. Bet you think it lives in a tray wrapped in plastic.:D:D:D

Hiya Mozzie...doing okay over here. Can't believe it's been over 3 years since we left Ireland and came here
Tend to have at the Gaylander section, but still peep over the wall now & then at the "Big Boys" to see what they are getting up to :D
Must say that I miss all the BECM and other quirks that the P38's have and have noticed that the L322's are suffering from the same bouts of sickness but on a more expensive and grander scale !!
Hope you are keeping well Mozz and keeping yourself busy.

All,

Thanks for the replies. I should have clarified in my first post - RR is a 2001 MY 4.0 HSE. I have the info in my signature but for some reason it shows up when I'm logged in, but not when I'm logged out??

As to the cause of the problem, I have come to the conclusion that there is some spurious signals in the vicinity of my friends house because this has happened on a number of occasions before, not to the same extent, but enough to make it annoying.

My BeCM is locked, however I have had the alarm and immobiliser disabled to try and reduce these type of issues. I can change some of the settings, and thankfully one of them is the immobiliser signal to the engine ECU. The low battery was a result of constant start attempts after trying to re-sync.

I posted the information as it may help others - I have received my share of help from other in keeping this fragile entanglement alive.

Onwards and upwards!!

Ken

I have sent off for a radio wave detector, whatever this is, it is also screwing with my TV as well. I presume someone with a CB or illegal device is nearby. I have complained to the radio interference government agency, I had this years ago. Pirate radio. well not the sort of pirate radio I knew. Glad when they raided them. Music was ****e, found them on the FM band. I think this is 4g playing a part. You may get a call from BT for a upgrade to your hub, these work on multi frequencies and 4G phones piggy back on your WiFi hub. This is a open system, not the same as before, no password is required. It's well written up on line. Harmonics in the radio spectrum are picked up by the early P38 receiver. Wammers, I had not messed with the Nanocom on the P38, all this just happened, only time will tell. I hope things stay the same. I only plugged in the Nanocom after the engine stopped working. it was a total mystery. The fault codes stored were the only thing read. The nanocom guys suggested a update and this was done. No outstanding data or settings was detected. All settings were as before the engine stopped. But the bluetooth diesel emissions detector at the mot was used and after that the troubles started. In Birmingham the RAC plugged in their laptop and they got it going after I parked next to a WiFi repeater. For anyone in Brum the Ibis at Holloway circus is a motel/chalet type place and they have so many wifi repeaters, one for each room. The RAC guy had a detector and it was off the scale. Away from the hotel we got it all running, the RAC also use bluetooth. I hope to get some readings.

Would be interesting to find out what is going on. Looks like someone knows more than they are saying and that is why a £10.00 to make MKIII RF receiver costs £200.00. Think they maybe expecting a lot of sales from a captive audience so to speak.

I wonder if you can get an app for your smart-phone? Just a thought.

Blue Tooth should be very short range, but a smart phone will detect Blue Tooth & WiFi without the need for an app.

For wifi I have an app call "wifi analyser" that is very good. Android O/S. Free from the Google Play store.

Not sure if you can analyse other frequencies though.
