Hi, this is my first post on behalf of my girlfriends freelander 1 W reg. i dont beleive the battery was flat in the fob. however all doors are locked and will not unlock with the fob, the driver door will obviously open with the key. the light on the dash blinks red until i try to turn the key in the ignition and then goes solid red.. as its not my car i dont know a great deal about what to do or go from here!
please help as have very unhappy girlfriend!!

many thanks in advance

Other fob hasn't had battery in for months, I've tried over two days and hasn't worked, any magical ignition on press some key fob buttons and hey presto?

Mine has come away from circuit slightly so put piece of card in to keep it connected till I get round to re soldering it

Unless the manufacturer has spent a bit of money on a robust design, Key fobs don't last long! (Couple of years of constant use at best). Try the other one with a new battery. However,
(ask girlfriend) the 'other' one may have had problems in the past which is why it became the "other one"!
Options as i see it at the mo:
1. new battery
2. new key fob
3. have you checked car battery? (may be partially flat)
4 burn it!
