I have been offered one for what I consider a pretty reasonable deal.... BUT I am interested in what any of you guys on here reckon...

Its a 90 TD5 pickup,
Year 2000, (on Irish plates),
Pretty good nick, except a few dents and dings here and there,
Good condition underneath,
118000 miles,
Supplied with a hard top, and roof rack.

What do you guys reckon she would be worth, roughly?????
Any advice or opinions would be much appreciated!!

Cheers,
Rich

:nopics: We want piccies!!! Have you given the chassis and bulk head a good going over?

My 2000 TD5 pick up with 75000 miles, ifor williams hard top and no dents cost me about £6400 this time last year if that helps

Providing the Bulkhead and Chassis are sound then about £5500-£6000. Don't know how mileage affects the price of TD5's, as far as I can tell it doesn't make much difference to 200/300 tdi's

My personal advice from experience Always save a reasonable amount of your budget for unexpected faults.

I don't have any, I'm afraid! I has been offered by a friend of a friend, and is not currently being advertised anywhere...

I've had a look underneath, and looks pretty good mostly, although the rear crossmember looks a little shabby...

I'm going for a closer inspection over the weekend when I plan on making a decision!!

Cheers for replying!

Cool!

It's looking like a pretty good purchase!!

Wicked Landy, by the way!

Cheers for your reply!

Take some snaps ;) make sure when you test drive it you put it in low box a few times to make sure there are no problems.

Good advice!

Most of my budget will be blown away on the fender + tax & MOT...:(
That which I have left may well go towards some slightly more appealing Wheels/tyres.... :D

Cheers for the reply!

Also as its a TD5 have a listen when its running for a buzzing coming from the back end, if theres no buzzing all is good if you hear a buzzing, get ready to buy a new fuel pump (thanks to WLM for telling me that whilst i was awaiting rescue!). As i found out with my works TD5 when i was borrowing it to get home.

Will do.

I've already taken it for a spin, but neglected to stick it low ratio... I'll do that next time.... If there are problems with the low ratio, it'll whine, right????
