Well I have been reading loads of post's regarding lifts body and suspension and have confused myself.

I want a good off roader that can be used on the road. I have 265 75 16 tyres to fit (insa special track) and its currently standard.

My first thought was to do a 2 inch suspension lift shock's and spring's nice and easy I thought, however it now seems I need extended brake lines (which i guessed I would), drop the shock mount's 2" inch's, extended bump stop's plus i could break my uj's and donut's.

So then I thought a body lift would be better as all the suspension stays the same except the brake lines, I think.

But which works better off road? Articulation, traction etc etc.

And before im told to search i have been and have confused my self which is the best option.

Thanks

I am currently running with a 2inch spring lift and I'm looking to put +5. inch shocks on with extended hoses and dislocation cones seems to be the most common with a few mates of mine

it got 31 1050 16 insa replica tyres on, iv got a 2" lift with extended break pipes.

the -2" struts are for standard shocks not uprated ones.

taking yours off road as is, see how it handles and then change things from their.

why spend £££££ if it will do exactly what you want as it is.

rear donut iv not had any issues with, but can be swapped for 200tdi diff pinion and prop.

my main worries would be protection (i havnt any and its taking its toll) so on my list are steering tank and transmission covers to stop it getting banged/cracked etc.

Thanks guys i have been told I need diff guards. steering etc which i will pick up along the way may even make some!!!

I think i have decided on 2" springs with 5" shocks plus extened brake hose's and extended bump stops to start with then see what i catch/break and go from there!
