I had a FL1 but traded it in a few months ago for a Chevrolet orlando LT diesel automatic as a I've been having problems with arthritis in my knee's and was struggling with the clutch.

The chevy was a great car loads of power seven seats good road holding easy to drive but the DPF kept blocking up every couple of weeks and then needed a blast down the motorway for 20-30 miles while it regenerated and it only did about 20mpg until it cleared which is APITA also I found the seats uncomfortable after about an hour and my back would be aching.

So I decided to buy another car and had missed the comfortable seats in the FL1 so test drove some FL2's and ended up buying a 2007 TD4 HSE.

I haven't picked it up yet as the garage had only just got it as a trade in and it needs a service a valet and a rear wheel bearing doing and one of their mechanics is off sick so I will get it either Friday or Monday, can't wait to get back in a Freelander I've really missed my old one and the wife has done nothing but moan about the Chevy.

I've just had an update from the garage I'm getting the FL2 from and the dodgy wheel bearing turned out to be the rear diff bearing so it will be next week before I can pick her up as they've had to order parts.

I'm itching to get my new car but pleased that this problem is going to be sorted before i get it one thing less to worry about.

The fl2 is a great car
I've had mine for about 3 years, so reliable, even with me off roading it lol

Must have expensive bank accounts with car tax and insurance wanting blood first. I got concerned when I saw my bank statement with vice grip symbols next my outgoings.

I think the rear diff sounds like the biggest problem on F2's (at least up to 2010) - so to get it refurbed just before you buy it is a great result.

Yeah thats my thoughts I'm pleased it didn't go after the warrantee period run out thats what happens to me usually.

I've had the FL2 a few weeks now and can say that its a great car very comfortable and easy to drive.
I did find a couple of problems, the auto headlights and auto wipers didn't work in auto only manual so I took it back and got them repaired under warrantee, it was the windscreen sensor as I suspected as it controls both these functions and after it was changed and a new fuse installed they now work great.

Glad you like it.
I like the FL2 too. However I need the space the Discovery 3 offers so I have one of those instead. If I could make do with a 5 seater, the FL2 would be my choice.
