Driving home last night the defender started loosing power, this morning it refused to start, finally bumped it and it ran like a sack of ****! drove it 8 miles in to work and it was terrible!

just been out to have a look started but still running like **** so i start the process of elimination and what it it? i filled it up with petrol instaed of diesel

So my question is how mush damage do you think i've done??

It's ment to be gettin a new 200tdi lump soon but i cant afford it yet

it's a 2.5TD (19j) if i drain the fuel system anf flush it will it survive?

yes it will be okay, but you want to drain it and refill with diesel and change the filter-my mate did it to his golf 45 ****ing litres

How much petrol's in there?

If it's less than half a tank, brim it with diesel, drive carefully and top-up again every 50 miles or so for 5 or 6 times.
Also stick a couple of litres of new engine oil in the tank to keep the injectors lubricated.
Then change the filter.

it will have shortened the life of the injector pump and the combustion chambers but on the plus side your injectors and fuel lines will be nice and clean

Only put about a tenner in it thankfully ! Least it's not dead I'm silly broke at the moment!

just brim it with diesel - if you can wait till yer've saved up enough munny in yer piggy bank.
