Hi, Just aquired my first Land Rover 1962 Series IIA which I would like to get back into more original condition. Havent driven it much yet and am struggling with the wing mirrors. I wondered if door mirrors were ever an option for this vehicle and if so were they available from Rover. Any advice, views much appreciated.

Door mirors on Series II used a different hinge, I doubt they're still available.
Ser III door mirror hinges are not the same. If yuo reaaly want door mirros that may be the way to go but you wil need all four hinges.

Thanks for the advice. I really want to keep the vehicle, or should more correctly say, return the vehicle to its 63 set up so I wouldnt want to change the hinges or drill holes unless that was available at the time. I was wondering if anybody makes clamp on arms, that clamp round the door edge.

As Clivees pointed out, they are wing mounted, round type..........but pretty much useless for seeing traffic coming up behind you.........how correct do you want to make the vehicle??

Hi All
I have door mounted mirrors on my series 2 they were purchased sometime in 1993 from either Paddock or Cradock’s sorry don’t recall which vendor, they have a stepped plate attached which fits underneath the original door hinge, the plate is around 1/16" thick and doesn’t effect the hinge operation.
Regards

I'd forgotten about those, silly really as I had them for years on my Series 3.
I don't think they are contemporary to IIa's but would fit.
Beware, from memory the hole spacing doesn't fit 90 type door mirrors

You can get those brackets for fitting door mirrors to Ser 11 from P.A. Blanchard. Shiptonthorpe, York. Just type that in and it will come up.
