Does anyone know what the button on the inside of ignition barrel is for??
Where it clamps to the steering column.

I think only the Freelander of 1996 vintage had that ejector seat button but I think that the same button on a 2006 Discovery 3 operated the rocket launchers and if it's in any of the Range Rovers from 2000> then I'm 100% that it was for the oil slick and or smoke screen function.

You're welcome.

Didn’t know if it’s a cut off, the landy I bought had ignition problem and noticed it was loose

Don’t know how clear that is

Isn’t that the bit that is actually the steering lock?

Look at where it actually goes, probably into a slot in the column

Ok cheers for that ain’t taking it right off to see ,just put key in and turned yep steering lock cheers all

What about immobilisers what you like with them ?? The landy I bought has got one that goes in cig lighter ?

Good luck with that keeping it free from theft.

You need to get something that locks the steering wheel, preventing it from being turned. A flashing light in the power socket simply isn't going to fool anyone, especially the low life's that steel Defenders.
