As usual mine was fine before we fooked with it , exhaust to starter to no cranking spark to 12v coil to knackerd lumenition bits.

Well at least I am getting well versed in how to sort it my self, and seem to have worked out the problem created by other problems :doh:

I have sorted it my self, I am quite proud- which prob means it will blow up on me tomorrow

It turns out it was the magic eye at fault and I fitted a new one today. Apart from the rings for the wife its the smallest thing I have ever spent that much on at £104 delivered just for the eye.

To make the job a lil more interesting there was no thread left on the adapter plate and my helicoil set didnt go small enough luckily I had some obscure size elctrical machine screws my old man got from BT in the 80's, they were cut and filed to size and then cut there own thread

I am guessing the eye failed becuase we used the wrong coil "NOT SUITABLE FOR use with low resistance (i.e. less than 1ohm)
electronic ignition coils" but never mind we live and learn and all it cost me was lots of cash :doh:

I will get stu to check the timing and my work when he is down next to sort out mateys disco down the road, But I hope its all good
