Hello All,

The ignition switch on my Land Rover Series 3, 109, 1980 went, have bought a new one, but you still have to jiggle the key to make it work, it seems the barrel is worn and the switch is not marrying up!

My ignition barrel as the casing for the choke cable built in too, I can’t seem to source one anywhere.

Does anyone know a supplier or a fix to my problem please?

Thanks

John...

I thought the ‘choke cable’ was for a diesel shut off?

It is on my diesel. Can’t remember what was on my petrol 30 years ago.

unfortunately the ones with the engine stop/cold start cable fitting are n o longer available. that's what lrseries told me when I got a new one

if anyone might have nos ones with the fitting, I'd agree with the dunsfold suggestion

Ive just taken my ignition of and am trying to replace the barrel as the old is sloppy. I drilled the to pins out but can’t get the old barrel out. Mines in a diesel with the old typecable on top. If I have any joy I will let you no.
