Have some problems with my ignition lock. The key goes smooth in the barrel, but on the last stage it is dead. All control lights are ok.Sometimes i can turn it back to stage 2 and turn it on again, and then it comes.Could it be the ignition lock or some other things? Can i change only the key cylinder or only the electric part? Hope i could still use the original key if i have to change it.Is it the same ignition lock on left and right hand models? The central door locking does not open the rear doors and the backdoor.I can`t even open the rear doors from the inside. Is it somethig with the alarm? If i push the dashboard lock/unlock button several times it opens after maybe 5 min or if i go out and lock the door and use the remote several times.Thankful for answers

Ignition switch is a regular failure item. I believe from other posts you can just swap the electrical part.

is it possible to just change the key cylinder? is the ignition lock the same on left and right handed vehicles td6 or v8 ? What about progr. key?

Not sure about yours but on most cars the ignition switch is on the bottom of the ignition barrel held on by a few screws. Just unscrew, put new one in place and screw up. No need to touch the ignition barrel.

thanks! Do you know if it is possible to buy only that part and where can i get it? At the dealer in Norway they want £450 for the ignition lock. The complete lock set to the whole car only £2000. Cheap ?
