Ere you go i thorgth i post this up now i've fitted it.
Built in a metal box with the power tran on the inside.
Also fitted a switch to set it back to mech ignition if required.

When she has compleated a few months of use i'll "pot" the box with glue etc.

Why build this that still uses points when you can buy a compleat contactless unit for about 12 pounds?

Because it's FUN, and instructive, and because if it goes skew-whiff you can revert to standard ignition literally at the flick of a switch.

looks ok.
diecast ally box from craplin, looks cool.
you'll get better reliability from the velleman kit than a chunk of vero.
your pointswill last ages and ages and you wont get as much spark splatter.
contactless are good, the only drawback is on optical ones crap gets in the optics and stops yer landy.
 
Well its been 11 Years since I built and fitted this and 30k miles its still working.
I've never had any issues or had to replace / adjust my points for all of that time.
