I meant if your sleeves slip OR drop...It seems like the block would have to be damaged to let the sleeves drop...is that correct??... How can the sleeve go lower unless the block is somehow worn and allows it to drop. I guess the sleeve could sleep without dropping if the head gasket failed...is that right???..just wondering if a kv6 cannbe rebuilt if the sleeve drops...

If its overheated they can become distorted then slightly misaligned. They don't move much but its enough to ruin the engine as every thing will be distorted

You can get shims to put under the liners. This will restore them to the correct hight.

Wow Nodge...thanks for the info....are the shims a land rover part or generic?

Not LR but aftermarket items. They were originally designed for the 4 cylinder K series, but will fit the KV6 liners too.
