Just installed RX8 drivers seat and as expected it s a little tight when closing the door. I am considering elongating the holes in the seat box so I can maybe steal half an inch movement on the seat towards the centre and/or applying heat to the door card with it pressed in to get a slight concave bend on it . Currently the controls for the electric drivers seat is pressing against the door card; not critical bit a bit annoying having to slam the door every time. Has anyone else dealt with this as I understand from my searching that its a common issue?

Actually that's not a bad idea although the passenger seat is not electric and therefore has no switches anyway but it might well solve the problem. I am using the original land rover female seat belt receivers and not the one on the seats so that's not an issue either.

I will be doing the same job soon, so interested in the replies. The seats I have in at the moment are quite wide and out a Subaru. They are tight but still fit without fouling the door.

The only downside for me in swapping the seats is that I would lose the lumbar support function thats on the drivers seat. Annoyingly I refurbished the original seats last year with new foams and Exmoor trim covers and also installed heat pads but I had spinal surgery last December and I find my back aches after driving in the current, original seats. I suspect they wil make more money that I have paid for the replacement seats and rails.

I've fitted them but haven't got around to fitting the doors yet. Just a thought, removing the switches and putting them on the front of the seat box / dash. Only means extending wires.

Yes that an option Mick but more wiring and joins means more to go wrong in a landy. Especially when I have done the wiring!
