My 2.25 petrol engine has developed a tendency to stall when I pull up. I've cleaned and checked the points, plugs, air filter, engine breather system. The carb is a Weber 345 and all looks ok. I tweaked the mixture screw and thought that had solved the problem. Still doing it. Could it be defective vacuum advance, leaking vacuum pipe. Ideas welcome.

Does it do it only immidiately after you drive it hard? Fuel level dropping due to insufficient supply or needle valve too restrictive

Thanks guys. I was reading about this online. I'll investigate and let you know how it goes.

I meant if you were full throttle up a hill with traffic lights at the top.

If it still does it after driving normal load and revs for more than 10 seconds then my question is irrelevant

Took out the idle jet and gave it a good blow and clean. Problem sorted. Thanks guys it was beginning to stump me and not so familiar with the Weber carb....up to now . Lots of info on these carbs on the web. Cheers.
