Hi all, first post so please go easy!
I have just bought a 2006 Freelander TD4 automatic and I love it.
I have noticed though that the idle is too fast, it idles at just over 1000 RPM whether hot or cold and irrespective of whether or not air con or headlights are on.
The idle is smooth and doesn't fluctuate at all, it is hardly an issue except with it being an auto the car is trying to creep forward a little to much when in drive.

The idle speed can also be adjusted via diagnostics and maybe that’s been carried out prior to buying it

A quick update, the idle speed was actually correct but the tacho is reading wrong. With the ignition off the tacho reads zero (as you would expect) but once the ignition is turned on the needle rises even without the engine running. I’m not too worried about it so will leave it as it is.
