Now and again my TD5 will rev a little then drop again, this is happening more often recently and hopeing it is not going to turn into a runaway.
Can anyone give me an idea of what I need to do please

Check the red plug at the Ecu for any oil, hopefully it will just be your injector loom allowing oil into the wiring. Cheap and easy fix if it is that

I will have another look at the ecu plugs, I checked them when it first started doing it a few months ago but it was clean and dry and no signs of oil

I also once had a faulty coolant temperature sensor that caused an odd revving at idle, that's also a quick fix, about two minutes, a 19mm spanner and about 18 quid if I remember correctly

Ah, temp gauge does drop now and again, then jumps back up as if I just switched ignition on

Sounds likely then, you can check for free by swapping the temp sensor from your fuel pressure regulator with the one for your coolant they are both the same, and if the problem goes away you've cracked it then it's just a matter of replacing the dodgy sensor with a new one

Better put new bosch sensor from the beginning and pray to not be a hidden wiring issue cos if it's faulty and you move it to the fuel temp then it will give you other engine running or starting issues

Thanks for the reply lads, bigger problem just now as the clutch started slipping last night so this is on the to do list

I am googling around, I've been told its not duel mass but not sure, going to check the pushrod when I get it home to make sure it's not just needing adjustment, I have a bill with the Landy saying the clutch was only hanged 18000 miles ago

....I've been told its not duel mass....
transmit some real rude expressions dedicated by me to those who told you that.... for example: ''bollox'' ......... to be on the civilised side

no way to ''adjust" the R380's clutch(rod or anything else) what-so-ever
