I admit you save atleast .5 of a penny on a full tank fuel consumption wise. I like to think i'm OK with electronics, i did refit a wiring loom someone had tampered with to no end back in to me 90 few months back. i'm using a pc wat i built myself. ;)
No need to be scared of a few bit's of electronics then. It just means yer need to take a slightly different approach to diagnostics sometimes. Fool efficiency is far more than 0.5p per tank. I understand the reasoning for tratterers thinking all vehicles should be drafty damp biscuit tins but what I don't understand is why there's so must hatred/animosity towards FL's and their owners just because their vehicle choice doesn't comply with the idyllic view of what a vehicle should be. They accepted the range rover after 20 years of moaning about it...

they don't have that robust look like 'fenders 'av.
The tough macho thing is so 80's. If vehicle choice were down to tough looks then you'd be buying merkin vehicles with ram raider accessories fitted as standard. How about if we covered out FL's with pointless checker plate to toughen them up?

well i have an 80's car. Tough macho thing is for me, and many other ppl. Also, it's not just the look, it's also the fact that they are tough. Freelanders, are not. 'fenders hold their value aswell, contrary to ''hippos''

They're not that tough when they roll over. The roof squashes too easily.

All this Freelander taunting is pointless. It's been going on for years, and seems to be far more popular on LZ than other forums. Probably due to the herd mentality of some on ere to join in. It's no wonder few Freelanderers attend LZ events.

I've asked you several times why Freelanders are so hated, but all I get is Freelanders are not real LR's and the usual rhetoric of not having... The answer is no different me asking why you don't like another make of vehicle... because it's not a LR. The simple fact is there's nowt wrong with Freelanders or their owners. Yes some are gay and that's the case for tratterers too. But to despise one vehicle due to it not being the idyllic image of some dreamed up imagery of what it should be, is silly. If you won £1m on the premium bonds you would buy a top spec RR without hesitation.

I wish you all the best for the future with yer tratter. Hopefully one day you will see the light and realise your vehicle is no different to our Freelanders. Neither have leafs so they're not propper LR's.

That IS true, but your further off leafs than i am ;)

Nah, prefer to buy me more 'fenders to restore :D

I wish you all the best for the future with yer tratter.

Hope you don't have too many electrical faults with yer FL. Been fun arguing though ;)

Some years ago I went on a round the world tour of LZ, reading each specific vehicle forum for a week to see how other LR vehicles compared to our hippo's. I read pages of freds new and prehistoric. The reality is there's a common theme of all LR products breaking down or requiring fixes. Tratter's and RR's also suffer HGF just as much as our hippo's. Problem is it isn't advertised as much on ere. Stiff upper lip and all that. All vehicles suffer with electrical problems, but P38's seem to get 1st place in the bashing awards for that. It doesn't matter what LR product yer drives/has/own... they all have problems be it the known issues or popular fixes. Our hippo's are no worse than other vehicles. It's just peeps like to perceive they're problematic. There's many a Freelanderer driving round quite happily with a Freelander with no faults that hasn't broken down. Regular surviving and the occasional fixes with many happy motoring miles. There are some (I has one) which requires a bit more fixing than this, but yer can't complain too much. Most the time it's working ok and it's fun to fix. That applies to all LR products be it latest arrivals or those who were born'd before their owners.
