They, like sadly Opel Manta A series are getting rarer and rarer. Not seen a R17 in a long time. I think the last time was while driving through France in fact, in about 2010.
I just thought I'd say I have just strung our onions. Never had to do that before as we have never had such a good crop! I used the Jack Hargreaves method. Seemed to go OK. We'll see!Preservation of the crops in full swing View attachment 348571View attachment 348572
On a scale if 1 to 10, how perishingly difficult is it?Done a couple of these on cars, using the split boot type. Need dextrous fingers to do them. Saves taking the mechanical parts apart. Also need to avoid supergluing yer digits together ----
I'd give it 2 or 3 spanners on the Haynes scale (out of 5), quite simple to do but fiddly. The glued joint will outlast the rubber, the secret is to keep the joint spotlessly clean and don't get any grease on it. The weakness is the same as on an original boot, the hose clip type thing at the large end. Got to be really tight to stop it slipping off, I have had success using a zip tie, but again must be tight. On a scale if 1 to 10, how perishingly difficult is it?
Have you found them to be a lasting repair?
He's certainly persistant.. but adorable..And started by what would seem to be the most ardent Freelander supporter on here
Says something about the freelander or "hippo" as you mud island people have named it
Promised fundy etc, still waiting.Storm building up outside, flickers of lightning in the distance.
