Very large fire in the department touching on ours, and we are in the corner of it, so very close.
I saw a strange cloud this a.m. when driving to Carcassonne to pick W up.

Not funny.

Edit, you have to click on it to see the pencil at the bottom of the pic which gives you and idea of the scale.
I think this Tom thinks it's a melon.
We got three plants like this that were supposed to be cherry tomatoes.
The smaller ones in the pic came from self-seeded versions.

Just got an email from my bruv.
His cancer is back, in liver and lungs.
He has just moved into a bungalow and wasn't really expecting this.
He already has no colon or bladder, and is in a wheel chair.
As they monitor him every 3 months they will have caught this relatively early but they have told him his intravenous chemo will be ongoing, with basically no end in sight.
When I think that his wife died of C just after retiring at 60, the following year he was diagnosed with it, their only son has gone through all of this with them both. Poor lad.

He just doesn't seem to be able to catch a break. Yet he stays upbeat. I havd totally no idea how.

Soz for depressing you all.
Sleep tight.
;)

Ideal for canning, the trouble with big Tom's thay take longer to ripen
