Morning All. :D
Today is my official lie-in day of the week, but as usual I am up first. :)
It gets to a point where my lower back is screaming "get off this bed NOW!"
I am carrying out a sperry-ment with the Mini. Just occasionally I get this loud "front-fire" through the intake side.
It only occurs under hard acceleration from a low speed. I don't think the timing is off because the thing performs so well generally. But, I think the sudden opening of the throttle is making the carb piston rise too quick and so it is leaning-out so much it pre-detonates. So the 20W oil has been swapped for 30W to see if a slower rise rate of the piston will help keep the mix a little bit richer. If 30W doesn't do it, then some 20/50 will be tried.
I seem to have an oil leak (yes all old style Minis leak) but this is getting a bit more severe. I think it is either the timing case seal or the crankshaft oil seal. Neither of which is fun to replace. :(

Have a great day!

Just sorted the last item in prep for my 2 x holidays this year. Insurance. Company I used last year wanted over 400 sovs for an annual policy, a massive jump from last years premium. Got quotes from Co Gompare for this year, got suitable cover for 150 sovs. Which will also cover me for next year if I take an early holiday. Or two.

Two of our hens somehow managed to get through the fence I put up between us and the neebs two years or so.
I had the devil's own job getting them back through.
How the flip do they do it?
Anyway, they cannot have found much worth eating over there cos as soon as I put them back in their enclosure they attacked the feeder like there was no tomorrow.
Maybe they will have learned!

This reads like "I needed an excuse to go and take myself in hand whilst looking through the neighbours window, so l locked my fowl on their land whilst wifey is away".

Dirty old pervert, choking his chicken.
