Afternoon folks :).

More wood butchering for the "east wing" ceiling today, should be out getting plasterboard next week as I move to the last section to put wood up. Maybe I should put in a few more hours working and just get it done🤔.
How many sheets to buy for a for about 7x9 (roughly)? Oh that meterers not foots:oops:. Need to get me numbers head on.

looked at our Walnut trees today and they dont look happy. That snow we had late and the cold spell seems to have hurt the new growth and the catkins are now black:(, but there does seem to be some more new growth. BG has warned that the latest cold snap has hurt fruit trees alot.

But at least the cold snap has gone so we havent lit the fire for a few days.

Got the Mini back. Drives very nicely without any dramas now. :)
Not a monster by any means. Dyno said 62BHP and 72.6lb/ft

I gave it some beans on the way home on the A130, it felt quite sporty.
Costapacket. :(
Not bad :)
Standard MG Metro 1275 was 72bhp but that was prob at the flywheel
1098cc motor was about 45bhp
Should go well with 62 depending on what diff is in it, :)

If the size of the wing is 7 x9 metres that is a huge space. Our living room is 8 x 5 so only 2/3 of yours.WOW!
What are you goin to do with it? Billiards room and bowling alley? 🤣 🤣

Agree with that cos that is exactly what mine showed when blokey did it.
Which was a amazing considering how old the engine was. Maybe the sports down pipes and exhaust put a little bit back.
Mine was on the standard MG Metro diff and box. If i'd kept it I'd have put the City E box and diff in to give it longer legs. As it was it was as quick as a flipping rocket!

As we now have more time before we go I decided to start up my noo Samsung Galaxy Book 4!!

It is now charging.
I have downloaded and printed off all sorts of helpful stuff off the net as I have never done this before, all ours have been done by others.

First hurdle, Getting Windows 11. I went onto this pooter to see if Ihave an account. I have.
So searched for a password in my special hidden passwords place. Shockingly I have.

Only MSoft don't accept it.:mad:

Knowing my luck it will have "run out" when I didn't even know this was a thing. They sent me a "one time" number code which I used but what good will that be when I want to get MS on tother pooter, it'll just do the same thing. Or worse, soemhow know I am on another pooter. And the really annoying thing is that I cannot change the Pword, even though my account is open.

Starting to get déja vu.

GRRRRRR!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Our lounge is 8x5 (i think) the 7x9 is split into 3 spaces (4 ceiling spaces) 1x bathroom (gonna have a bath in this 1:)) 1 bedroom area (half of the total) and another area for just the " Grand enterance" to the east wing:oops:.

I sometimes have to think that the size of our lounge is close to the base footprint of my first 3 bed 2storey semi detached house.

All the measurments are estimated btw, but close enough.

I will not be knocking anymore walls down to get a billards room/bowling alley, M wants a bath end off discussion:).

Dont need comments about "needing a bath" we have plenty of showers. M has put up with this project for me, so.

Right, on closer inspection it looks as if the MS thingy W bought me bypasses accounts and stuff, so hopefully one less thing to worry about.

Good on yer!
so you'll be putting up studs etc and dry lining etc once t'ceilings up, I suppose. And doing some helectrix!! And some plumberin!!

Don't envy you, although starting with a clean sheet will help.
Funny that both our living rooms are the same size and, yes, well bigger than the footprint of my first 2 up 2 down!! .

Best of luck with the project!!!:):)

I bow to your superior knowledge gents I looked up the Metro engine online and it said:
The standard 1275cc MG Metro engine typically delivers around 57-72 bhp (brake horsepower). A 1275cc engine used in the Metro, which was sourced from the Mini Cooper, had a 20% increase in bhp to 72, achieved through modifications like a different cylinder head, larger valves, improved porting, and a larger carburettor.

So I thought that 62BHP at the roadwheels on a dyno was pretty good.
I am not at all unhappy.

Sounds OK to me. Certainly a load more oomph than a standard Mini.
In fact I am shocked that mine was therefore one that had been breathed on, never knew that, I was just given it, (Kevved!)🤣🤣 it by a member of my club, who had taken the seats out of it. BUT he used to run a garage so maybe he had done the breathing on, or had bought it in as a special. No wonder the flipping thing went like a bomb!

But it certainly did have the typically "best ever cam" etc.

If I had known this I'd have sold it for more money! 🤣🤣🤣
