(.......but be difficult to drive on normal roads and/or in traffic.) Sincerely hope not!;);)
Very best of luck cos I know it can be an expensiver business! 👍👍🫰🫰🫰
Well, the guy is highly regarded, local and I have already briefed him that I just want a "fast road mini" not an out and out racer.
He told me this morning he would not load & fire any "parts cannon" without speaking to me first.
Starting price is £240, he makes custom SU needles to ensure correct fuelling at all RPM and varying loads.
I am expecting it to be in the 300+ mark, maybe up to 400.

... I have to report that I no longer have GWEN the mini. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. 😢

Because she's at the rolling road tuners.
May get her back in a day or two later this week and maybe she will go like a :vb-bat: out of Hell or 💩 off a very shiny shovel.
Hope they do a good job for you, tell em not to lean it off too much, might look good on emissions but the Mini loves fuel.
It'll be fine, best of luck with it :)

My bloke only worked on the carb, he only swapped normal needles around, no fine tuning like you are getting and it annoyed the flip out of me the amount of "my" time he spent talking to someone on a mobile phone. (I went there and stayed there, it was out in the sticks with no one available to pick me up even if I had wanted it, and I didn't want it. I wanted to see what he got up to!)

Mine cost £150 but then it was years ago. Don't think he spent longer on it than an hour.

Looking forward to hearing how you got on!!:):):)

...that I am once more totally blown away by the crap BIL's attitude.
My wife has been attending her mother daily and doing all her mother's shopping (as usual) since the old gal fell over the other week. Liaising with the care team and the frailty nursing specialists.
Her brother (the prize A-hole) has managed to visit his mother in the evenings for about 4 evenings and now declares "it's too much, I can't go on like this, I am not getting my music done, and I am not feeling too well".
His mother is slowly fading away and will probably die soon, but it is ALL ABOUt HIM and his needs/wants.
My wife is furious and heartbroken that he is so self-centred. I want to beat him black and blue, but I am instructed to hold my peace. I will do so, but I am boiling mad. Good to be able to vent one here though. :D

Is it spelt with an e at the end, black n white bird with frilly ginger mohican.
Spotted this one last year on me hols ---

Something I have to do, got a drawer full of screwdrivers, some of em broken, drawer full of many sorts of pliers, drawer crammed with odd sockets and breaker bars, same with another two (at least) toolboxes, all need a serious amount of attention ... then I wont be able to find anything :D :D

Wire strippers & spade connectors kit New in the box. Plus other stuff. ??? Im wondering if they were the lads tools that

Vent away, mate. We all feel for you and are amazed that you don't go further than you do.
Remain content with the fact that you are supporting your wife and not adding to her problems.
But seriously, if I were in your position I doubt I could contain myself as you manage to. :)

With a bit of sawing and welding old screwdrivers can be made into other special tools.
I at the mo have tools in the garage here, in a room and tool box in Frogland and prolly the best ones in the back of the Disco.
So in many ways triples of stuff.

And I wonder how many of us look at a tool and ask ourselves "Where in heck did that come from?" I certainly do! ;)🤣

I had tools before I moved out of my dad's place. The sod threw them away. I had used them to work on three cars I owned before I became a rep and didn't need to work on them.
Then I became a student in Lunnen and didn't need a car, went to France bought an old Renault 6 and soon needed tools so bought the most rubbish ones you have ever seen. From Frog supermarkets. But got by with them.
Since then things got to where most of us are. It seems you just can't have too many of them. Especially when a mate decides to sell his house and asks me if I am interested in the "junk" that came with it when he bought it. He never used the garage but the previous owner had been a driving instructor. So I visited and it was like Aladdin's cave. Elora socket set, metal bodied Black and Decker drill, etc, etc, and little packets of bulbs that I STILL use, this was back in about 1989!

I love the way you say "tools that I have never seen before". I bet you have seen them, just never paid attention to them!!!

And then there was my neighbour who ran a garage from behind his house. He retired and decided to move to Malta. He had more tools than you could shake a stick at. He flogged a lot and flogged another lot to his ex-colleague, but he still flogged me panel beating tools that would cost a fortune if I wanted to buy them. Me who hates bashing metal!! But once in a while they are useful. He taught me a lot about welding so some of the tools for joddling etc are very useful.
