I have been freezing my nethers off in my little workshop.
It is tedious making ring-plates 42mm ID 62mm OD out of 3mm sheet steel on a lathe.
Lots of operations for very little progress, but we got there. :D

This is the result below. A Two Wheel Drive (2WD) unit for a pedal car racer. Itcan have any 10Spd cassette mounted to it and it is compact and pretty lightweight. Those are all the main parts all stacked together and held there by gravity. Some bits get welded together (bottom 3 elements) but the top 2 are bolted to the rest with small M5 bolts locking the upper and lower rings together and fitting in between the teeth of the sprocket you can just see sandwiched between the 2 ring-plates.
I am pleased with how it has come out. :)

Looking good Dan.

Well the fog light went in, and the reversing light on the other side too as well as replacing the rather dark indicator bulb.....
BUT!!!!

(You knew this was going to happen didn't you, seems to be my month, or is it the year, for this?)

As I was removing the offside cluster, the clear perspex screen that covers it, and had been hanging on by its fingernails, as I discovered at MOT time, came "detached". Luckily it didn't break or fall.

Nowt forrit but to take it indoors and clean it throughly prior to some fiddly work with sellotape. Hain't got no proper waterproof tape, that will have to wait until I can get some.
I will research what to stick it back together with. 2 pack expoxy I expect. It is obvious that Citroen's own glue ain't all that brill.

And when I did the nearside I noted it had started to part company too so did a "stich in time" operation on that one too.

I may have been a little hasty about how I thought Citroen had designed all bulb holders to be specific. I looked more closely at the ones on the nearside and came to the conclusion they were all the same. Haven't checked back on the offside as not really that bovvad and CBA to detach the gas ram, take out the starbolts etc etc.

4th day without CH. Getting used to it but it isn't funny any more. Wondering what a 2kw electric fan/convector heater on pretty much 15 hours a day, is costing? Answer 22.35 p/Kw/hr will be our new rate, the old rate must be more  Which it is so about £4 a day. Well that would be on full time and full power, which it isn't but it makes you think.:(
My "Smart Meter" Actually works and I am tracking it in a daily spreadsheet . Castle clarke is burning £10..12/day on energy.
A pretty consistent 16Kwh on trickery and the rest on Gas. It is pretty much a 50:50 split pricewise as gas is 25% the cost/Kwh of trickery. :)

I suppose I could buzz off out each day, move the wheelie bin and other rubbish, open the cabinet and take a reading!
Don't know if I can do it via the website. Octopus sure know!
At least we know that gas consumption is near zero!
Just had a quick look at what air-sourced heat pumps cost in 'lectric. ~Not funny! And W read me a bit off some news she found this morning saying that boiler companies are going to be penalised if they don't flog enough or the wretched HP things.
Grrrr!!

I've just checked and I can more or less check rdaily consumpetion via Octopus energy online. Funny how our gas consumption has dropped to zero!
not so funny re the electric tho!
